UnitedHealthcare's Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans focus on quality of care - with prevention and wellness as key components. Each HMO member accesses health care through a contracted primary care physician (PCPs) he or she selects. The PCP gets to know a member's medical history and individual needs, and thus a healthy partnership is formed between the member, the provider and UnitedHealthcare. A member's primary care physician also selects the specialists and hospital the member will use when necessary. HMOs offer the advantages of minimal paperwork and low, predictable out-of-pocket co-payments each time a member receives health services.
SignatureValue HMO Deductible Plans
UnitedHealthcare SignatureValue HMO Deductible plans are new HMO plans that provide a more affordable health care option to allow availability of coverage to more individuals. Additionally, they offer a good benefit package at the same price point as skinny PPO plans. The HMO Deductible plans will continue to function as an HMO. Members will need to continue accessing care through a contracted primary care physician (PCP) he or she selects. The main difference is that members will be subject to deductibles and out-of-pocket costs for various services.
