What do I do if I've forgotten my Provider ID or password?

If you have forgotten your Provider ID, please call 1-800-693-8322 and a representative will retrieve your Provider ID and provide you a temporary password. Provider IDs cannot be reset. Passwords may be reset provided you have the answer to your security question. Please note that resetting the password will NOT impact other users that you may have set up.

If you have forgotten your Password, please select the Forgot Password link and follow the steps. The security questions that you answered during your first login will appear. Once you have answered them, you will be able to change your password. If you are not successful in resetting your password, please call 1-800-693-8322 and a representative will provide you a temporary password. Passwords may be reset provided you have the answer to your security question. Please note that resetting the password will NOT impact other users that you may have set up.

My account is disabled - what do I do now?

If your account has become disabled, just call the UnitedHealthcare help desk at 1-800-693-8322 and a representative will enable your account.

I've lost my registration letter - what do I do now?

If you've lost your registration letter, just call the UnitedHealthcare help desk at 1-800-693-8322 and a representative will provide you a temporary password.

How can I change my Provider ID?

Sorry, the Provider ID is your UnitedHealthcare Provider ID and cannot be changed.

How do I determine my Provider ID?

If you are a provider residing in CA, OK, OR, TX or WA your Provider ID will be your UnitedHealthcare Provider ID or Healthcare Provider Profile Number. An example of the UnitedHealthcare Provider ID is "123456-0001" and the Healthcare Provider Profile Number is "12345678".

If you are a provider residing in AZ, CO or NV your Provider ID will be your Tax ID plus a two digit suffix. Your suffix can be found on an EOP statement.

Can I request individual User IDs and passwords for each person in my office?

You have the ability to create unique User IDs and passwords for each person in your organization that has a business need to use this site. Go to Manage My Users tab after you login, in order to create unique User IDs.

How long will it take to receive a new password?

If you have requested a new password, it will take 5 to 7 business days to receive a letter with your new password. If you are using the Forgotten Password function on the Web site, the results will be immediate.
If you are a Standard User, a Main Organization ID Owner or any ID Administrator in your organization can reset your password and you will immediately receive a new one.

How can I verify that my password is being sent to the correct address?

If you are the Main Organization ID Owner and have requested a new password, the password will be sent to the address of record as verified when you called for a new password.
If you are a Standard User, the Main Organization ID Owner or any ID Administrator in your organization can reset your password and you will immediately receive a new one.

I need to find a specialist for a patient. Can I do this via www.uhcwest.com?

You sure can! Go to the Directories link at the top of the page. The option will provide you with the capability to find and select a specialist for your patients. The functionality has many features, including the ability to pick a specialist by location and type. In addition, the search is eligibility based, meaning that the specialist is within the network for that particular enrollee/patient.

What type of information is available in the Doctor Directory?

The online directory contains the following physician and provider information:

  • Physician or Provider Name, Address, and Phone Number
  • A map and directions to each physician/provider's office
  • Office language capabilities
  • Board Certification
  • Hospital Affiliation

Can I get coverage information for my patients through www.uhcwest.com?

You sure can! Just click on Eligibility. This will allow you to view eligibility for all of your patients just by entering the Member ID, State and Dates of Service. We also offer the ability to search Provider History and Coverage History.

If I don't see a claim on this site, does that mean that you haven't received it yet?

Almost every claim that we have processed is available on www.uhcwest.com for every one of your patients. The only claims that we currently do not display, are the claims that are waiting to be processed. If you do not see a specific claim that you are looking for, contact Provider Customer Service for HMO claims 800-831-4388 and for PPO claims 800-255-1180

• Where can I find out more information about the status of a claim I've submitted?

If you have submitted a claim via EDI, the mail or any other vehicle, click on Claim Status. This link will provide you the capability to view claims that have been adjudicated by our claims systems.

Can I bookmark the eligibility or claims inquiry pages after login?

You need to login to gain access to any of the secured Patient Transactions. For this reason, you won't be able to bookmark a secure page; however, you can bookmark the login page to make it easier to find that page.

Are the policy and procedure and benefit interpretation manuals on-line?

Yes, they are located in the Library tab. You must be logged in the secured web-site in order to access provider manuals and other proprietary information.

How do I become a provider for UnitedHealthcare?

To become a UnitedHealthcare provider, please go to the Join Our Network tab on the web site and select the Provider Contract Request. Complete the form and select submit. UnitedHealthcare cannot guarantee that Providers applying to contract with UnitedHealthcare shall become contracted Providers. Providers are subject to reviews based on network adequacy and UnitedHealthcare qualification standards.
